Goodbye and thanks to the Village Van

Throughout the serious lockdown the villages of North Norfolk have enjoyed and been grateful for Tom Neall’s Village Van.

For the past few months he has been touring villages in the Holt, Briston and Cromer area providing a mobile village shop.

Some time ago Tom had left city life in order to follow his passion for sustainable seasonal and freshly cooked food. In 2019 he set up a small mobile dining service along with his distinctive Citroen van. In the van he visited exhibitions, fairs and events as well as providing dining experiences for private parties.

Naturally once businesses were closed down because of the pandemic this work came to an abrupt end, but Tom had the idea that his van could easily be converted into a mobile shop in which he could tour the district. That was the beginning of the “Village Van.”

Now that businesses are beginning to reopen there is a danger that the facility which he thoughtfully provided may be coming to an end. So in the not too distant future it looks as if Neal’s Kitchen and Quack n Mac may be back in business.

Our thanks Tom; we have enjoyed your visits and especially your cheerful service. You and the van will be sadly missed.
