Last week we looked at some of Rosie Ward’s photographs of her village in France, Quillan in the Aude Valley. This week Rosie shares pictures of wild flowers and butterflies of the region.
rosie“Scenically, it is a diverse area; just over an hour from the Mediterranean coast but in the foothills of the Pyrenees, under an hour from ‘serious’ mountains.

My main interest is in flowers, both wild and garden varieties and, because of its position, the area is rich in flowers; alpine varieties towards the mountains and more tender and low level varieties towards the coast.
