Let there be mud (Pictures of the week) from the Royal Norfolk Show

As some of you may know, one of my delights at the Royal Norfolk Show is to photograph ladies in their fashionable hats. A number of these hats are so minute that it is difficult to tell at times whether it is a hat or a bit of coloured straw that has flown through the air and simply come to rest on the person’s head.

However this year day one of the show was very different. It rained hard all the time until about 3pm. That was when the camera came out from under my coat.

But by that time all the fashionable hats were either back in their hat boxes, or totally unrepairable.

One or two noble souls had substituted the head gear for brollies. And jolly cheering they looked. So there are a few here and some more on my website.
