You Shop – We Drop (Every picture tells a story)

Every picture should tell a story – that was what my old art teacher used to tell me.

These photographs from my India collection flashed across my screen this week and I remembered the wonder ful characters and lessons learnt when I visited.

A Naga Sadhu – they travel light

The naked man? He was in fact a religious Sadhu – a holy man. Thoughts such as “We bring nothing in to this world and we take nothing out.” These occurred to me as I took this image. Anglican clergymen with Volvos – eat your hearts out.

The scene is of Hardiwar in Northern India during the Kumbh Mela festival. Thousand of people there to bathe in the holy waters of the Ganges – a sort of mixture between Blackpool and Walsingham.
